Jefferson Health in Abington, PA is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the night shift in the PCT - Surg Intermediate Unit at Abington. You will provide direct and indirect patient care under licensed supervision, promote a safe care environment, and collaborate with the interprofessional team and telehealth services.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, BLS certification, and the ability to perform tasks within scope while supporting diverse patient needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care within interprofessional team.
• Ability to complete delegated tasks within scope of role.
• Knowledge of patient safety risks and how to mitigate them.
• Ability to communicate respectfully with patients, families and care partners.
• Understanding of diverse backgrounds and ability to connect effectively.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with and supports the interprofessional team, patient, family and designated care partners.
• Performs direct and indirect patient care activities under supervision of licensed clinical team members.
• Maintains a safe patient care environment.
• Assists in maintaining supplies and equipment to ensure efficient unit operations.
• Conducts patient rounds, anticipates patient needs, and responds to patient call lights promptly.
• May support telehealth encounters as needed.
• May facilitate clinical exams with peripheral devices and telehealth software.
