Job summary

Montefiore Nyack Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Associate for the Emergency Department. The PCA will perform direct patient care under RN supervision, including vital signs, ADL assistance, and documentation.

The role involves phlebotomy, EKG, glucose testing, and adherence to safety protocols. Evening shifts, weekends, and holidays are required as part of a dynamic patient care team.

Qualifications

• High School Required or GED Required. Less than 1 year of health care experience.
• Certified Nurse’s Assistant or Certified Patient Care Technician, or currently enrolled in nursing program.
• Phlebotomy and EKG skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs and assist with activities of daily living.
• Document observations, measurements, and patient data for RN review.
• Assist with nutrition, mobility, and transfers.
• Perform phlebotomy via venous puncture and obtain lab specimens.
• Conduct finger-stick glucose testing and report results to RN.
• Follow safety, infection control, and patient privacy policies.
