Job summary

Montefiore Nyack Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Associate for evening shifts with variable weekends and holidays. The PCA will perform assigned patient care tasks under RN supervision, including vital signs, hygiene, mobility, phlebotomy and EKG, and documentation in the patient chart.

The role requires Basic Life Support and English proficiency, with ongoing competency checks and opportunities to advance within the unit.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy and EKG skills preferred.
• Certified Nurse’s Assistant or Certified Patient Care Technician experience or enrollment in nursing program preferred.
• English language proficiency required.
• BLS certification within 30 days required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with direct patient care under RN supervision.
• Document vital signs, intake, output, and nursing notes.
• Perform phlebotomy and EKG as delegated by the RN.
• Support patient comfort, hygiene, mobility, and safety per hospital policy.
• Maintain patient rights and professional standards in daily tasks.
