Job summary

exalt seeks a dynamic educator to join our team as an Adjunct Teacher, a part-time role supporting our pre-internship program for court-involved youth.

The Adjunct Teacher will lead 1–2 class cycles per year, teach 4:30–6:30 pm in person, and arrive earlier for prep and debriefs. Bachelor’s degree required; three years teaching experience with system-involved youth; bilingual Spanish encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• Master’s or advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of three years of teaching experience with system-involved youth.
• Bilingual Spanish-speaking candidates strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Teach and manage assigned class cycles.
• Humanize, motivate, validate, and inspire court-involved youth.
• Assess individual learning styles and adapt instruction.
• Connect instruction to long-term student goals: persistence, employability, and justice avoidance.
• Conduct outreach via phone, email, and in person to monitor progress.
• Enter attendance data in Salesforce weekly.
• Administer core-skill assessments and ensure Salesforce entry.
• Prepare court letters and provide updates for court appearances.
• Attend weekly teacher meetings and biweekly program team meetings.

Education
