Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant I or II certification required by Maryland Board of Nursing.
• Successful completion of a state-approved Certified Medication Technician (CMT) training program.
• High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications to residents as prescribed with proper documentation.
• Observe residents during medication administration and report issues to the RN Delegating Nurse or Director of Nursing.
• Verify resident identity before administering medications and follow self-administration protocols.
• Maintain accurate medication administration records (MAR) and documentation in the resident’s file.
• Ensure medications are stored, handled, and secured per guidelines.
• Assist licensed nursing staff with resident assessments and care planning within CMT scope.
• Provide residents with support for light housekeeping and escort to activities as needed.
• Report medication errors and participate in safety initiatives.
• Complete all required administrative tasks accurately and timely.
