Job summary

Residential Transitions, Inc. (RTI) is seeking a Full-Time Mental Health Worker to join our Bloomington, Minnesota residential program. The role offers a $500 hiring bonus and pays $18.00 per hour, with a schedule of Sunday–Thursday, 3:30 PM–12:00 AM.

As a Direct Support Professional in RTI’s DSP capacity, you will provide direct support and skills training to individuals served in 24-hour residential programs, reporting to the Program Manager with no direct reports.

Qualifications

• One year of experience supporting individuals with severe mental illness and/or traumatic brain injury.
• Ability to pass a Department of Human Services background study and required screenings.
• Valid driver's license with access to a personal vehicle and insurance.
• Ability to work independently and with culturally diverse populations.
• Ability to transport individuals served when required.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to individuals in developing and maintaining independent living skills.
• Support individuals with mental health management by identifying and practicing coping skills and alternative strategies.
• Teach and model community integration and independent living skills, including self-managing medications, finances, transportation, and accessing resources.
• Interact with individuals to facilitate socialization and promote appropriate interpersonal skills.
• Participate in scheduled and spontaneous recreational activities.
• Teach and model healthy living habits and assist individuals in developing the skills to maintain them.
• Provide person-centered support aligned with RTI's philosophy.
