Job summary

Residential Transitions, Inc. in Inver Grove Heights, MN is hiring a Full-time DSP Mental Health Worker to provide direct support and independent living skills training in our 24-hour residential programs for clients with SMI or TBI.

You will report to the Program Manager and work 11:30 PM–8:00 AM Tuesday–Saturday. The role emphasizes 1:1 coaching, coping skill development, community integration, and transportation when needed, with a strong person-centered approach and commitment to cultural

Qualifications

• 1 year work experience with individuals with a severe mental illness and/or traumatic brain injury.
• Ability to pass DHS background checks and the BCA and related DHS screens.
• Ability to travel within the Metro area with a valid driver’s license and insurance; transport clients as needed.
• Ability to work independently and in a home-based residential setting.
• Ability to work with culturally diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals in independent living skills through 1:1 service.
• Support individuals in mental health management by teaching coping skills and strategies.
• Teach community integration skills (medication management, finances, interpersonal interactions, transit, home tasks, and resources).
• Interact informally to facilitate socialization and appropriate behavior.
• Participate in scheduled and spontaneous recreational events.
• Teach healthy living habits and develop corresponding skills.
