Job summary

Southeastern Virginia Training Center (SEVTC), part of the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services, is hiring Direct Support Professionals for the 2:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. shift.

You will assist residents with daily living, implement behavior plans, and collaborate with the care team to promote independence and safety. We offer preservice training in CPR/First Aid, medication administration, nutrition management, and behavioral support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to navigate an Electronic Health Record with training.
• Must be able to meet physical demands (standing, bending, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds).
• Successful completion of preservice training including CPR/First Aid, medication administration, nutrition, and behavioral management.
• Ability to work with an integrated team.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living activities, personal care, and mobility.
• Utilize behavior management strategies to support individuals with maladaptive behaviors.
• Provide emotional and behavioral support while promoting independence.
• Implement behavior intervention plans and collaborate with a support team.
• Foster a safe, structured, and positive environment.
