Job summary

Resources for Human Development in Ambler, PA seeks a Direct Support Professional to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in community settings. This full-time role runs 4p-12am Wednesday through Sunday, paying $17.50 per hour with DailyPay available.

Paid training is provided, including medication administration certification, and you will work with a team to help clients build life skills, participate in their communities, and reach personal goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to read, write, and document effectively in English.
• Basic computer proficiency, including email, electronic documentation, and timekeeping systems.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to complete required trainings, including CPR, First Aid, medication administration, and other assigned training.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including personal care, meal preparation, housekeeping, and community participation.
• Support individuals in developing life skills, independence, and self-confidence.
• Foster meaningful community connections and social relationships.
• Provide supervision, guidance, and support in residential and community settings.
• Implement Individual Support Plans (ISP) and behavioral support strategies as directed.
• Transport individuals to medical appointments, community activities, day programs, religious services, and family visits.
• Monitor and respond appropriately to crisis situations in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
• Administer medications following certification and agency guidelines.
• Complete required documentation accurately and timely, including daily logs, medication records, incident reports, and goal tracking documentation.
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and trauma-informed environment.
• Attend required trainings, staff meetings, and competency-based learning activities.
• Collaborate with supervisors and clinical staff to ensure individual needs and goals are met.
• Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
