Job summary

Whole Life in Killingly, CT seeks compassionate Direct Support Professionals to assist individuals with developmental disabilities in daily living activities, community participation, and safety. You will document care, monitor health, and support in ADLs, with a focus on dignity and empowerment.

Qualifications

• Proof of high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Proof of valid driver’s license and ID documents.
• Ability to pass a Background Check, safe driving record, and Abuse Registry Check.
• Must be able to stand, move, twist, bend, kneel, reach, lift, and walk for the majority of your shift; some positions up to 100 lbs.
• Must document care in English and communicate with clients and coworkers verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and meal preparation.
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and support medical appointments.
• Ensure a clean, safe living environment through light housekeeping and laundry.
• Engage clients in social activities, community outings, and choice-making to promote independence.
• Use mobility equipment (e.g., Hoyer lifts) with proper techniques.
• Document daily activities, observations, and incidents accurately.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA regulations.
