Job summary

Alternatives, Inc. in Milford, NJ, is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver for full-time evening shifts in GH 14 Milford, NJ 08848. The role focuses on helping adults with developmental disabilities live as independently as possible in a residential setting.

You will administer medications, assist with meals and daily activities, and support community outings while following individual plans and documenting care. Training is provided and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Ability to pass criminal/registry background checks and a drug screen.
• Clear tuberculosis (TB) screening.
• Ability to pass and maintain required trainings such as CPR/first aid, medication administration, and positive behavioral support training.
• Basic computer skills.
• Experience with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities is preferred but not required; compassion and strong communication are valued.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living in a residential home.
• Administer medication, cook meals, perform personal hygiene tasks.
• Transport residents to medical appointments as needed.
• Implement individual behavioral plans and encourage community outings.
• Report concerns and maintain accurate documentation.
