Job summary

Allure of Knox County is seeking a reliable Dietary Aide for evening shifts. You will assist with meal preparation, serving, and delivering meals to residents, ensuring health and safety standards are met.

This part-time role supports an attentive dining program in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include inspecting diet trays, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting the Cook with pantry stock while following sanitation and PPE guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must meet eligibility for IDPH Health Care Worker Registry.
• Ability to perform job-related functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
• CPR certification as required.
• Food Handler Certification as required by State of Illinois.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation and serving, ensuring food safety and hygiene procedures are followed at all times.
• Inspect special diet trays before passing to ensure they comply with dietary restrictions.
• Check accuracy of meal trays against printed tray ticket menu.
• Resolve problems with resident trays.
• Offer residents appropriate alternate food and beverage choices.
• Monitor residents' eating habits and report problems with swallowing, chewing, or loss of appetite.
• Assist the Cook with determining kitchen supplies and stock for the day, as well as checking and maintaining stock levels.
• Assist with cleaning duties in the kitchen and dining areas.
• Maintain clean and sanitized kitchen, storeroom, and dining room areas, equipment, and surfaces.
• Wash dishes and/or utensils in a way that is in line with acceptable practice standards.
• Resolve resident requests/complaints or report to appropriate staff.
• Assist with room service delivery as needed, including assembling resident trays, loading carts, and delivering meals to residents.
• Comply with sanitation regulations.
• Use proper PPE as required.
