Job summary

Emerald Healthcare in Omaha, NE is seeking a part-time Dietary Aide to support the dietary team in providing nutritious meals to residents in a skilled nursing facility. You will assist with meal prep, serve meals, maintain kitchen cleanliness, and follow care plans to meet dietary needs.

This role emphasizes teamwork with nurses and caregivers, adherence to safety standards, and delivering friendly, attentive service. Evening shift supports residents\' dining needs and enhances quality of life.

Qualifications

• Experience: Previous experience in a food service or healthcare setting is a plus but not required. On-the-job training will be provided.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs, standing and walking for extended periods, and capability to handle hot and cold food items.

Responsibilities

• Meal Preparation: Assist with preparing and cooking meals according to menu plans and dietary guidelines. Follow standardized recipes and portion sizes.
• Food Service: Serve meals and beverages to residents in a timely and courteous manner. Ensure that meals are presented attractively and at the appropriate temperature.
• Dietary Compliance: Adhere to residents' dietary restrictions and preferences as outlined in their care plans. Maintain accurate records of special dietary requirements and report any deviations. Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment by following food safety protocols. Perform regular cleaning of work areas, utensils, and equipment.
• Communication: Report any changes in residents’ conditions or concerns to the nursing staff or supervisor in a timely manner.
• Inventory Management: Assist with inventory control by checking and storing food supplies. Report any shortages or expired items to the Dietary Manager.
• Resident Interaction: Engage with residents in a friendly and respectful manner. Address any food related concerns or preferences they may have.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with other dietary staff, nurses, and caregivers to ensure seamless meal service and address any resident needs.
• Compliance: Follow all facility policies, health regulations, and safety procedures. Complete mandatory training and attend meetings as required.
