Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) in the Allentown area seeks a radiology student to perform diagnostic imaging under supervision, delivering compassionate patient care and adhering to radiation safety standards. You will work at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Muhlenberg with per diem, evenings, and onsite shifts.

Requirements: current enrollment in an approved radiology program, second-year student with competencies, High School Diploma/GED, PA BLS within 30 days, RT- PA within 3 years.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Currently attending an approved school of radiological technology.
• Second year student with competencies completed.
• Ability to deal effectively and ethically with medical and confidential information.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania within 30 Days
• RT - Registered Technologist Radiology - State of Pennsylvania Within 3 Years

Responsibilities

• Provides radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
• Uses appropriate exposure factors, collimation, and proper distance with documentation.
• Assumes responsibility and accountability for his/her own safety and the safety of others.
• Produces diagnostic quality images and prepares them for radiologist interpretation.
• Ensures exams are appropriate and attached to the correct patient folder.
• Coordinates daily work duties within the team and timing of exams.
• Ensures images cross into PACS before study completion.
• Assists in education and training of new employees and students.
• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of the work area.
