Job summary

Kroger in Bloomfield Hills, MI is seeking a department lead for Produce to provide leadership during peak hours and collaborate with store leadership to drive sales and an exceptional customer experience.

You will train and develop associates, ensure merchandising standards, execute promotions, and maintain safe, clean, and organized departments consistent with 5S practices to ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral/written communication skills.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership support and direction during primetime hours (3p-7p M-F; 11a-7p Sat/Sun) to drive sales and enhance the customer experience.
• Promote trust and respect among associates, with a positive attitude; communicate information to associates.
• Establish department performance goals and empower associates to meet targets through teamwork.
• Ensure orders are put up in a timely manner, rotate products and replenish throughout the day.
• Train and develop associates on their job performance and participate in the performance appraisal process.
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions and locating products.
