Job summary

University of Iowa Health Care—Environmental Services is seeking a Custodian Services Supervisor to coordinate, supervise, inspect results, and oversee custodians in accordance with established guidelines. This on-campus role is a 2nd shift position with rotating weekends and holidays, offering a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Two years of custodial experience or related building and facilities maintenance.
• Supervision for a minimum of six months, including assigning daily work activities and monitoring quality.
• Ability to coordinate work activities and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, supervise, inspect results, and be responsible for custodians' work activities.
• Develops work schedules and directs daily work routines of custodial staff.
• Trains and orients new employees and conducts formal training sessions.
• Schedules and approves vacations and coordinates staffing accordingly.
• Inspects all areas and completes inspection reports.
• Evaluates, tests, and recommends new supplies and equipment.
• Oversees relocation of furniture and equipment and movement to repair shops and storage.
• Oversees custodial functions for environmental, linen, and medical record needs.
• Maintains inventory of linen and custodial supplies; prepares records and reports.
