Job summary

Bend Park and Recreation District seeks a dependable Custodian to keep recreation facilities clean, safe, and welcoming for the community and staff. The role may include light building maintenance duties.

The position is part-time (25 hours/week) with shifts on weekdays, weekends, and holidays, and includes a 5% shift differential. A strong knowledge of cleaning standards, English communication, and ability to work with minimal supervision are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Some custodial or facility maintenance experience preferred.
• Any satisfactory combination of education, experience and training.
• Possession of or ability to obtain Oregon driver’s license within 30 days where required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction and support to new custodial staff.
• Perform cleaning, janitorial and sanitation duties in facilities including restrooms.
• Assist in determining cleaning needs and adjust schedules.
• Sweep, power wash sidewalks, parking lots and pool decks; remove snow.
• Maintain floors via stripping, waxing, polishing, buffing or burnishing.
• Report graffiti, vandalism and other incidents.
• Set up and arrange furniture for meetings or events.
• Work under supervision of Custodian Supervisor with occasional independent work.
