Job summary

Fairfield Public Schools is seeking a Grade 9-Custodian III to perform custodial and minor maintenance tasks at McKinley School. Responsibilities include floor care, cleaning, and assisting students and staff as directed by supervision.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent; experience in building cleaning or maintenance is a plus.
• Must follow verbal and written instructions; able to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, scrub, strip, wax and polish floors with industrial floor machines.
• Collect and dispose of garbage and trash.
• Set up and move furniture and fixtures as requested.
• Clean walls, ceilings, windows, fixtures, using ladders and scaffolds.
• Vacuum, shampoo and extract carpets in offices and classrooms.
• Assist students, teachers, and staff as assigned by supervisor.
• Transport teaching supplies and equipment as required.
• Maintain and service custodial equipment.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks in buildings.
