Job summary

Portland Public Schools is seeking a Building Custodian II, 2nd Shift - Float to join its Custodial team in Portland, Maine. Under the Head Custodian, you will perform cleaning, stocking, floor care, and general custodial duties across the district.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, English proficiency, and the ability to lift 50 lbs plus pass a post-offer physical. Shift is 2:30 PM–11:00 PM, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• English language proficiency required.
• Multilingual proficiency preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Clean, dust, mop, disinfect, wash, polish and wipe surfaces.
• Strip/wax floors and operate cleaning equipment.
• Receive/stock supplies and perform routine painting or minor repairs as trained.
• Report hazards and secure the building; perform other custodial tasks as assigned.
• Lift heavy loads and perform physical labor as described in the job posting.
