The Valley Shore YMCA in Westbrook, CT is seeking a friendly Custodian/Housekeeper (Evenings) to keep the facility clean, safe, and welcoming for members and guests. This part-time role offers flexible evenings and weekends and includes training and a free YMCA membership.

Responsibilities include cleaning, setup for programs, groundskeeping as needed, reporting maintenance needs, and helping maintain a positive, family-friendly environment aligned with the YMCA values of Caring, Honesty,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Six (6) months or more of custodial, housekeeping, facilities maintenance, or related experience preferred.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions, safety procedures, and operational guidelines.

Responsabilités

• Maintains a clean, safe, and welcoming environment by completing assigned cleaning and maintenance tasks according to schedules and standards throughout the facility and surrounding grounds.
• Keeps custodial supplies stocked and replenishes soap, paper towels, cleaning products, and other materials.
• Safely operates and maintains custodial equipment in accordance with YMCA policies and manufacturer guidelines.
• Identifies, documents, and reports maintenance needs, safety concerns, and repair requests, performing minor repairs when authorized.
• Helps ensure facility security by routine inspections and proper area locking.
• Follows YMCA safety policies, remains alert to hazards, reports incidents or injuries to a supervisor.
• Assists with room setups, furniture arrangements, and facility preparations for programs, meetings, and events.
• Builds positive relationships with members and staff, upholding the YMCA values and attending trainings.
• Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned.
