Job summary

Lamoille North Supervisory Union is seeking a Substitute Custodian for Cambridge Elementary School in Jeffersonville, Vermont. The typical shift runs from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm, with duties centered on cleaning and maintaining a safe environment for students and staff.

Ideal candidates will be self-reliant, detail-oriented and able to work independently or as part of a team. High school or trade school degree preferred; citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Qualifications

• Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or with a team.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Good communication with colleagues and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Perform industrial cleaning tasks to uphold cleanliness and sanitation standards.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms, classrooms, and common areas.
• Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
• Dust and sanitize surfaces.
• Clean windows and glass surfaces.
• Operate buffing machines to maintain floor appearance.
• Restock supplies in restrooms and other areas as necessary.
• Report maintenance or repair needs to Facilities Manager.
