Job summary

Kent Quality Foods is seeking a dependable 2nd shift custodian in Grand Rapids to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for staff and guests. The role covers routine cleaning, sanitation, and light maintenance during evening hours.

Responsibilities include cleaning restrooms and common areas, restocking supplies, and reporting issues to supervision. Candidates should have a high school diploma and are encouraged to apply even if limited experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, or facilities experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and work independently.
• Reliable attendance, professionalism, and attention to detail.
• Ability to use standard cleaning tools and equipment safely.
• This position requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, and lifting throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, use cleaning equipment, climb stairs, and work with cleaning products safely.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize assigned areas, including restrooms, break rooms, offices, hallways, entrances, and common spaces.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, disinfect surfaces, and remove trash and recycling.
• Restock restroom and cleaning supplies as needed.
• Set up, move, or arrange furniture and equipment for events or cleaning as assigned.
• Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, equipment problems, or supply needs to a supervisor.
• Follow established cleaning schedules, safety procedures, and proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Perform other custodial or light facility support duties as assigned.
