Job description

Custodian - Davis Elementary

Pay Range: Min $18.15 - Mid $21.78 - Max $25.41 Hourly

Hours: 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Keeps buildings and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas clean, safe, and neat at all times using appropriate methods and equipment.
2. Familiarizes self with and complies with district policies and administrative regulations related to the position. Ensures proper use, storage, and disposal of waste, cleaners, chemicals, and other materials.
3. Notifies appropriate personnel of the need for additional supplies, equipment failures, missing equipment, or repair needs.
4. Sweeps and wet mops the main lobby and other areas during inclement weather to remove salt and debris.
5. Inspects indoor common areas, dusts, mops, vacuums, removes trash, changes lightbulbs, cleans boards, and disinfects as needed. Performs groundskeeping duties as assigned.
6. Removes graffiti from hall walls, lockers, and other areas daily.
7. Delivers supplies to classrooms upon request.
8. Inspects grounds daily for debris and empties outdoor trash receptacles as needed.
9. Cleans and disinfects fountains.
10. Maintains cleanliness of lobby, office glass, showcases, and other glass surfaces indoors and outdoors as assigned.
11. Checks restrooms daily for supplies and refills as needed. Cleans faculty lounge refrigerators semi-annually.
12. Performs summer cleaning tasks, including stripping and waxing floors, cleaning lights, washing walls, and cleaning refrigerators.
13. Distributes school supplies and maintains exterior grounds as directed.
14. Removes snow, spreads ice melt, and cleans leaves.
15. Responds to emergency situations such as vandalism, power failures, storm damage, and water pipe failures.
16. Unloads materials, supplies, and equipment upon receipt.
17. Performs all work professionally, timely, and safely, using appropriate safety equipment and maintaining tools and equipment in good condition.
18. Directs student, bus, and/or car traffic as required.
