Mental Health Resource Center, Inc. is seeking an Emergency Services Evaluator for the North campus in Jacksonville, FL. The role focuses on crisis screening, triage, and referrals for children, adolescents, and adults in mental health crisis.

The position requires a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a related field with at least one year of experience with chronically mentally ill populations. Independent decision-making and strong communication are essential, with MS Office proficiency expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field with at least 1 year of experience with chronically mentally ill population.
• Ability to make sound independent decisions daily, including recognizing emergencies and responding appropriately.
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact with families, caregivers, community providers, staff, and other professionals.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, Outlook, and Internet use.

Responsibilities

• Conduct emergency mental health screenings for individuals entering the facility (voluntary or Baker Act).
• Apply Baker Act criteria and DSM-5 standards to assess crisis calls or walk-ins and arrange services as needed.
• Provide Crisis Intervention.
• Coordinate patient transfers to community hospitals.
• Coordinate with insurance companies to obtain pre-certifications and authorizations.
• Complete required documentation and reporting.
