Job summary

WellSpan Health in Chambersburg, PA, is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician for the Core Lab on Evening/Nights. The MLT performs and interprets routine diagnostic procedures across chemistry, hematology, microbiology and immunology, with regular routine work in multiple divisions of the lab.

The role requires ASCP/AMT eligible certification, with the expectation to achieve registered status within the first year.

Qualifications

• Experience applying customer service behaviors and communication skills.
• Associate degree preferred.
• Registered or registry eligible as a Medical Laboratory Technician by ASCP or AMT; must achieve registered status within one year.

Responsibilities

• Understands and follows hospital fire and safety procedures.
• Maintains ASCP membership as a MLT.
• Follows departmental policies and procedures.
• Assesses workload and reallocates tasks to meet emergencies.
• Performs routine and stat procedures per laboratory specifications.
• Enter results into computer system within 1 hour of test completion with high accuracy.
