Job summary

The ideal candidate holds a MLS or bioscience degree and ASCP credentials, understands LIS systems, maintains quality control, and supports staff and physicians as part of a collaborative laboratory service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in MLS or related bioscience; ASCP eligible or certified.
• Broad knowledge of laboratory methods, QA, and LIS/PC systems.
• Experience in chemistry, hematology and STAT microbiology in a hospital lab.

Responsibilities

• Performs waived, moderate and/or high-complexity tests under supervision.
• Produces and documents accurate lab results for diagnosis and treatment.
• May perform phlebotomy for diagnostic testing as needed.
• Maintains quality control, calibration and proficiency testing per procedures and standards.
