Job summary

City of Hope seeks a dedicated kitchen team member to accurately prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold foods for Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and events. The role includes following recipes, serving customers, and maintaining safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include reading orders, preparing meals—including special diets—keeping records, and participating in regular safety trainings. High school diploma or equivalent and 0–2 years' experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 2 years of related work experience.
• Preferred: Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and cash-handling procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and cooks foods that may require short preparation time.
• May prepare food and serve customers at an a la carte and may operate a grill station.
• Prepares food in accordance with current standards and regulations to ensure high-quality food service.
• Reads orders and prepares and cooks food according to instructions.
• May prepare meals for customers requiring special diets.
• Provides excellent customer service at all times.
• Follows recipes and product directions, measures ingredients, and trims and cuts meats, fruits and vegetables.
• Keeps records to plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment.
• May follow safety, allergy and infection control guidelines and attend training as designated.
