Job summary

Avalon Village in Ligonier, IN is seeking a Cook for full-time evening shifts to join our culinary team. You will prepare meals meeting residents’ nutritional needs, lead kitchen staff, and ensure sanitation standards are maintained as part of ASC’s CARE values.

Responsibilities include following menus, cooking in quantities, and handling supplies per state and federal regulations. Prior healthcare experience is preferred, with certifications in sanitation a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years related experience or training.
• Preferred sanitation/safe food handling certification.
• Preferred institutional/healthcare service experience.

Responsibilities

• Follows recipes and prepares food that meets residents’ nutritional needs.
• Cooks meals in required quantities and ensures palatability and nutrition.
• Leads kitchen staff with food preparation, assembling trays, cleaning, and storage of supplies.
• Maintains a clean food service work area during service.
• Handles, stores, and disposes of food supplies in compliance with procedures and regulations.
