Job summary

Nye Health Services is seeking a dependable part-time evening Cook to join our culinary team. Work every other Saturday and Sunday, four shifts per month, with a flexible schedule designed for extra income while making a difference in residents' lives.

You will prepare meals per planned menus, ensure safety and cleanliness, and collaborate with dietary aides to deliver quality service in a healthcare setting. Prior cooking experience is preferred, healthcare experience a plus.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience preferred (healthcare or senior living a plus).
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable attendance and flexibility to support evening/weekend needs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines
• Ensure food is prepared in a timely, safe, and consistent manner
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards
• Assist with food prep, portioning, and plating as needed
• Collaborate with dietary aides and team members to ensure smooth service
• Monitor food supplies and communicate inventory needs
• Support special events, modified diets, and resident preferences when applicable
