Job summary

Creative Dining Services at Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, is seeking a PM Cook to join the Dining Services Department. You will prepare high-quality, nutritious meals, follow established recipes, and ensure food safety while working as part of a cooperative kitchen team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years cooking experience.
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• ServSafe Certification.

Responsibilities

• Time food production so meals are ready at service time.
• Prepare food items according to established recipes and menus.
• Utilize batch cooking to avoid over/under production.
• Follow safe food handling techniques at all times.
• Store and label food items per standards.
• Maintain proper temperatures for served food.
• Keep logs of temperatures and equipment checks.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized work area.
• Open/close kitchen as required and secure areas.
• Ensure a safe, organized kitchen environment.
• Communicate needs to supervisor promptly.
• Monitor equipment and report discrepancies.
• Support other kitchen staff in essential functions.
• Assist management with ordering and inventory procedures.
• Remove refuse as needed.
• Stock handling tasks as needed.
