Job summary

Hendricks Community Hospital Association is seeking motivated individuals to become Certified Nursing Assistants. No experience required; CNA classes are provided at no cost to you and certification can be obtained through our program.

The role involves assisting with daily resident care, including hygiene and mobility, with focused support for geriatrics. Weekend and shift differentials apply; evenings are from 2pm to 10:30pm, with rotating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a state approved nursing assistant training program.
• Previous experience in a healthcare facility preferred but willing to train.
• Genuine interest in geriatrics.
• Able to provide quality resident care following each individual care plan.
• Communicates and relates in a positive manner with residents while interacting with them and responds appropriately to resident behaviors.
• Able to adhere to team concept and work together with co-workers for the benefit of the residents and the facility.
• Practice infection control procedures.
• Able to exercise independent judgment and maintain emotional stability under stressful conditions.
• Flexibility to handle changing situations and emergency needs.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
• Job involves moderate to heavy physical work.
• Frequent standing, bending, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting weight in excess of 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care for long-term care residents.
• Assist with activities of daily living (hygiene, bathing, grooming, dressing, eating).
• Support residents’ physical, emotional and psychosocial well-being.
• Communicate positively with residents and respond to behaviors appropriately.
• Maintain safety and infection control procedures.
• Work as part of a team to benefit residents and facility.
