Job summary

Amery Hospital & Clinic is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant/Mental Health Technician for its Behavioral Health team. The role supports direct patient care under a Registered Nurse, contributing to a therapeutic environment.

The position is a .5 FTE with evening shifts on Thursdays and every other weekend, with benefits including medical, dental, 401k, disability and tuition reimbursement. A high school diploma and CNA certification are required, with two years of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must maintain current certification from a certified nursing assistant training program.
• Two years relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participates in orientation of patients to unit rules and introduces them to community members.
• Performs patient care with attention to detail, safety and comfort.
• Records patient vital signs, input and output accurately.
• Acts as patient advocate.
• Observes and reports patient behaviors related to problems or goals.
• Monitors patient behavior during non-structured activities and intervenes as needed.
• Performs clerical tasks such as answering phones, charting, filing, order entry, and supplies ordering.
• Maintains a therapeutic milieu and leads patient activities as assigned.
• Maintains a clean, organized environment.
