Job summary

Amery Hospital & Clinic is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant/Mental Health Technician to join the Behavioral Health team on a .5 FTE Evening shift (Thursdays and alternating weekends). The role supports direct patient care under a Registered Nurse, monitors vital signs, and helps maintain a therapeutic milieu.

The candidate will be credentialed as a CNA with preferred two years of related experience. The department emphasizes compassionate care and collaborative practice in a community

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must maintain current CNA certification from an approved program.
• Two years relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Accurately measures and records patient vital signs, inputs and outputs.
• Acts as patient advocate and observes behaviors related to patient problems/goals.
• Monitors patient behavior during non-structured activities and intervenes as needed.
• Performs clerical tasks such as answering phones, chart preparation, filing, order entry, and supplies ordering.
• Maintains a therapeutic milieu environment and leads therapeutic patient activities as assigned.
• Assists staff in maintaining a clean, organized environment.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Amery Hospital is looking to hire a Certified Nursing Assistant/Mental Health Technician to join our Behavioral Health team! Position Summary: The Nursing Assistant/Mental Health Technician provides direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse, utilizing their skill and expertise to complement other health care providers. Essential Duties: Participates in the orientation of patients to the unit rules and regulations and introduces him/her to other community members. Performs patient care with attention to detail, patient safety and comfort. Accurately measures and records patient vital signs, input and output. Acts as patient advocate. Observes and reports specific patient behaviors related to patient problems/goals. Monitors patient behavior during non-structured activities; intervenes appropriately. Performs clerical tasks such as answering the phone, making up charts, filing, order entry, ordering supplies, etc. Assists in maintaining a therapeutic milieu environment; leads therapeutic patient activities as assigned. Assists staff in maintaining a clean, organized environment. Work Schedule: .5 FTE - Evening shift, Thursdays Along With Every Other Weekend (8-hour Shifts) Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent is required. Must maintain current certification from a certified nursing assistant training program. Preferred Qualifications: Two years relevant experience preferred.
