Job summary

Oaks of Longview (formerly Havencare) in Longview, TX is seeking dedicated Certified Nursing Assistants to join our team. This full-time role offers 2 PM–10 PM shifts, a supportive work environment, and opportunities to deliver compassionate care to our residents.

You must hold current CNA license and have at least six months of experience, plus excellent communication and teamwork skills. Our benefits include health and dental insurance, 401(k), and life insurance.

Qualifications

• Must possess a sincere desire to serve the ill, aged and infirm.
• Must have current CNA license.
• Six months CNA experience or clinical experience in CNA class.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to work tactfully with residents, families and staff.
• Willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
• Must have patience, cheerful disposition and emotional stability.
• Able to relate to ill, disabled and elderly residents.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties per facility policies and nursing care procedures.
• Make resident rounds at shift start and every two hours to administer care.
• Verify resident ID before care or meals.
• Report missing ID bands to admission coordinator.
• Make beds and clean bedside areas.
• Ensure water pitchers are cleaned and within resident's reach.
• Other duties as directed by Charge Nurse or Administrator.
• Wash hands before and after caring for residents.
• Position residents correctly, head of bed elevated for feeding.
• Assist residents with dental and mouth care.
• Observe reddened areas and report findings.
• Continue with related duties as directed.
