Job summary

Dept of Veterans Services is hiring a Certified Nurse Aide for the Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center in Virginia. The position supports residents during the evening shift (3 PM – 11:30 PM), providing direct care, meal assistance, and timely documentation according to each resident’s plan of care.

Qualified candidates hold a Virginia CNA license and demonstrate strong communication and ADL knowledge, with the physical ability to move and assist non-ambulatory residents as needed.

Qualifications

• Current Virginia CNA license.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of personal care needs and activities of daily living (ADL’s).
• Physical ability to turn, bend and lift non-ambulatory adult patients without restrictions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meals and escorts residents to the dining hall.
• Make rounds regularly, answer call lights promptly and respond courteously.
• Complete all required paperwork/computerized documentation for charting assessments.
• Provide each resident the necessary care in accordance with his/her plan of care and ADL record.
• Monitor and observe residents’ physical, mental, and emotional status, and report changes to Charge Nurse.
