Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide resident-centered care in a long-term care setting. You will assist with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, and support the care team under an RN supervision.

Ideal candidates have a CNA certification, high school diploma or GED, and willingness to complete required continuing education. This role offers evening shifts, part-time schedules, and opportunities within a large rural health system.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 16.
• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• CNA certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement.
• CNA training and certification provided by facility.
• Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance with basic health care needs including daily living activities that may include bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, and providing psychosocial support.
• Assists in transferring, repositioning, and walking using correct techniques and equipment; provides ROM and passive exercises.
• Completes tasks related to food preparation and dining, ensuring a positive dining experience for residents.
• Assists residents with meals and hydration; supports wellness and recreational programs; documents interactions and care outcomes.
