Job summary

Americare Senior Living in Springfield, MO is seeking a dedicated Certified Medication Technician (CMT) to provide safe, accurate medication administration and compassionate resident care within our skilled nursing community.

You will administer medications, assist with activities of daily living, and collaborate closely with licensed nursing staff to support residents’ health and quality of life in a clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a Certified Medication Technician (CMT) course approved by the State of Missouri.
• Active CMT certification in good standing, with annual updates as required.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
• Verify resident identity prior to medication administration and document dosage, time, and observations.
• Monitor residents for medication responses and promptly report adverse reactions or concerns.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, meals, and mobility.
• Recognize and report changes in resident condition to charge staff.
• Take and record vital signs and report abnormalities per facility policy.
• Identify medication shortages and immediately report concerns to the supervisor.
• Maintain accurate documentation related to resident care, intake, and output as ordered.
• Support coworkers by providing assistance as needed.
• Complete admission, discharge, and transfer documentation as required.
