Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Clinical Laboratory Technology or related field as required.
• NY licensure or certification asClinical Laboratory Technologist required.
• Degree holders with NYS licensure plus experience may qualify.

Responsibilities

• Receives and prepares specimens for routine tests in two or more lab sections.
• Conducts tests according to established procedures in two or more lab sections.
• Evaluates data and uses LIS to determine next steps in testing.
• Calibrates, maintains and troubleshoots clinical lab equipment.
• Prepares media, reagents, and test solutions for analyses.
• Prepares and reads slides and smears for microscopic examination.
• Communicates results to physicians for patient care decisions.
• Performs quality control and investigates instrument or reagent issues.
• Collects specimens from patients, including phlebotomy.
• Assists in training staff and students on procedures.
• Maintains accurate patient test reports and records.
