Job summary

Qualifications

• Possession of a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology, Medical Technology, biology, chemistry or physical science meets NY standards.
• Current clinical laboratory certification or NY licensure is required or acceptable.
• Alternative: Bachelors in natural science with 2 years licensed laboratory experience or national certification.

Responsibilities

• Receives and prepares specimens to perform routine or special tests in two or more lab sections.
• Conducts tests, examinations or analyses according to established procedures.
• Evaluates and interprets lab data using LIS when necessary.
• Sets up, calibrates and maintains clinical laboratory equipment.
• Prepares media, reagents, and test solutions for analyses.
• Maintains records and prepares patient reports for tests and examinations.

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology/Medical Technology/biology/chemistry or physical science

Clinical laboratory technology certification or state licensure

Bachelor’s Degree in natural science and 2 years lab experience or certified as a clinical laboratory technician
