Job summary

Brown University Health at The Miriam Hospital in Providence, RI seeks a licensed laboratory professional to perform basic clinical tests and support blood bank procedures under supervision. You will ensure proper patient identification, run routine tests, and maintain readiness with safety and quality in mind.

Qualified candidates have an Associate degree in a lab science, national certification eligibility, and the ability to operate laboratory equipment.

Qualifications

• Completion of an Associate degree in a lab science.
• National certification by ASCP or equivalent.
• Eligible for national certification with ABHES/NAACLS accreditation.
• Ability to operate equipment and perform routine tests.
• Commitment to safety and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory procedures following SOPs and policies.
• Receives specimens and verifies patient identification.
• Verifies sample information and performs routine tests.
• Assists in Blood Bank processes and transfusion preparation.
• Operates equipment and participates in QC and maintenance.
• Maintains laboratory readiness and supplies.
• Answers telephone and relays results as directed.
