Responsibilities

• Enter patient demographics and test orders with accuracy.
• Verify specimen collection/receipt and assign daily workload.
• Assist in orienting and training new employees.
• Prepare and process specimens for testing and distribute to appropriate area.
• Develop or revise work procedures and evaluate staff performance.
• Support during computer downtime and ensure staff know procedures.
• Develop competency skills and testing; ensure timely completion of tests.
• Ensure samples are accurate for referral testing and documents are complete.
• Review unreceived reports daily.
• Participate in continuing education and share learnings through presentations.
• Ensure patient samples are properly identified and requisitions double-checked.
