Middlesex Community College (Bedford Campus) is seeking an evening cleaner for the Facilities Management team. The position is part-time, 20 hours per week, with an evening schedule from Sunday through Thursday. The role supports a clean, safe environment for students and staff across campus facilities.

Salary is $18.25 per hour, with the start date in November/December 2026. Applicants must have reliable transportation and be able to perform physical cleaning tasks, including lifting up to 50

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning and custodial duties throughout College buildings (classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, common areas).
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize floors and surfaces to maintain a clean environment.
• Clean, disinfect, and restock restrooms with paper products and soap.
• Empty trash and recycling; dispose of waste properly.

General Summary: The part-time evening cleaner is responsible forgeneral cleaning, custodial duties, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. Candidates should be able to work independently, follow instructions, and perform physical tasks as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform routine cleaning and custodial duties throughout assigned College buildings, including classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, stairwells, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize floors, furniture, fixtures, and other surfaces to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
• Clean, disinfect, and restock restrooms, including replenishing paper products, soap, and other supplies as needed.
• Empty trash and recycling receptacles and properly dispose of waste in designated collection areas.
• Clean and sanitize high-touch surfaces, including door handles, light switches, desks, countertops, and shared equipment.
• Perform evening cleaning and preparation of classrooms, meeting rooms, and other instructional spaces to ensure they are ready for use the following business day.
• Monitor assigned areas for maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or security issues and promptly report concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
• Ensure assigned areas are properly secured upon completion of cleaning duties, including checking doors, windows, and lights in accordance with established College procedures.
• Safely operate and maintain custodial equipment and properly handle cleaning products in accordance with applicable safety standards and College procedures.
• Maintain custodial supply inventories and notify supervisors when additional materials or equipment are needed.
• Respond to spills, unexpected cleaning needs, and other custodial concerns that arise during the evening shift.
• Work independently with minimal supervision while prioritizing assigned tasks and ensuring that cleaning responsibilities are completed efficiently and thoroughly.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
