Job summary

The City of Ames is seeking a part-time Clean-Up Laborer to work less than 20 hours a week at the Resource Recovery Plant, with hours Monday–Friday, 4:00 PM–7:00 PM. Under general supervision, duties include general clean-up, manual labor, sweeping, shoveling, blowing off equipment, and assisting with loading/unloading materials while following safety policies.

Open until filled; applicants may be considered for other openings in this classification for up to 6 months.

Qualifications

• General labor experience preferred.
• Ability to perform manual tasks in varying weather.
• Ability to understand written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform general clean-up and maintenance tasks at Resource Recovery Plant.
• Operate or assist with lift equipment and manual material handling.
• Maintain safety protocols and wear required PPE.
