Job summary

Ames Community School District's Ames High School in Ames, IA is seeking a dependable 2nd Shift Custodian. This year-round, full-time position runs 3:30pm–12:00am, Monday through Friday, supporting daily cleaning and after-hours activities.

Responsibilities include securing the building, managing work orders, and timely timesheet submissions. You will communicate with staff via radio and cell phone and assist with winter maintenance to ensure a safe, well-kept campus.

Qualifications

• Able to lift and move items up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and maintains assigned rooms throughout the building.
• Assists in preparing the facility for evening and weekend activities.
• Secures the building and performs lock-up duties.
• Uses computers to enter work orders, manage email, and submit timesheets and absences.
• Communicates with staff and community members via two-way radio and cell phone.
• Maintains building grounds during winter through snow removal and ice mitigation.
