You will teach U.S. history, civics, and English language skills, implement assessments, and support student engagement in a flexible evening program that values equity and community involvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Connecticut Teaching Certificate.
• Connecticut endorsement in either: English to Speakers of Other Languages for Adults (#088) or Noncredit Mandated Programs (#107).
• Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
• Proficiency with instructional technology, online learning platforms, and virtual teaching tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and adapt lesson plans aligned with USCIS naturalization requirements and Adult Education best practices.
• Deliver instruction in U.S. history, civics, government, and English language skills for naturalization.
• Provide instruction on government structures at federal/state/local levels.
• Conduct mock interviews and prepare students for USCIS interview and citizenship test.
• Maintain attendance records and progress documentation.
