Job summary

Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA) is seeking a Part-time Choir Faculty to lead Chamber and Concert Choirs, with rehearsals in the evenings and additional preparation time as needed. The role includes coaching ILMEA and solo/ensemble preparation and coordinating with the Fine Arts Team.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in Music and has teaching experience with diverse student populations.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Music or related field.
• At least 1 year teaching music, directing choirs, or providing group instruction.
• Experience with diverse students and cultures.
• Effective communication with students, staff, and parents.
• Engagement in reflective professional practice.

Responsibilities

• Teach/direct the Chamber and Concert Choirs.
• Use IMSA’s SIS/LMS platforms.
• Guide and tutor students outside of class time.
• Participate in curriculum and assessment development.
• Attend year-start meetings for similar full-time positions.
• Maintain weekly office hours (1.0 hour).
• Contribute to four annual evening concerts.
