Department of Veterans Affairs’ Battle Creek VA Medical Center is recruiting a Licensed Practical Nurse to work in Extended Care Service in the Community Living Center. The LPN will provide direct care, administer medications, and participate in planning and evaluating nursing care with the healthcare team.

Shifts include Sunday through Saturday, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with 80 hours per pay period. Telework is not available. This is a federal position under the Veterans Health Administration.

Qualifikationen

• Education or degrees recognized by the U.S. Department of Education may be used to qualify for Federal employment.
• If using foreign education, provide a Certificate of Foreign Equivalency with transcripts.

Aufgaben

• Direct caregiver providing complex nursing care and specialized practical nursing activities.
• Work independently with limited supervision and demonstrate independent technical judgment.
• Serve as leader or co-leader for a group of patients and function as Charge Nurse when appropriate.
• Administer medications via non-intravenous routes and monitor patient responses.
• Educate patients and families about orders in the EMR and document effectiveness.
