Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, IL is seeking a Central Sterile Technician for an evening, full-time schedule (3:00pm–11:30pm). You will decontaminate, prepare and sterilize central sterile trays, instruments and equipment, manage inventory, and perform related data entry and patient charge card batching.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, two years of CST experience in an acute care hospital, and Central Supply Certified and BLS certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required for new hires.
• Two (2) years’ experience as a Central Sterile Technician in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Central Supply Certified certification, preferred
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate, preferred

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, preparation, sterilization of Central Sterile trays, instruments, equipment, inventory and restocking of supplies, computer data entry and patient charge card batching.
• Demonstrates knowledge of all department locations within facility and ability to access all departments.
• Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
