Job summary

Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Inc. seeks a Central Service Technician for the 2nd shift.

The non-certified technician will receive, clean, decontaminate, and process instruments and supplies, operate and troubleshoot sterilization equipment, and support infection control. Preferred CRCST certification within 12 months, High School Diploma, on-call weekends/holidays, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Preferred experience in Central Service operations.
• Experience with inventory control concepts and PAR level usage.
• Certification required within 12 months from hire date.

Responsibilities

• Receives, cleans, decontaminates and processes instruments and equipment.
• Operates water softener system and troubleshoots as needed.
• Performs sterilization and high level disinfection.
• Prepares linen packs and instrumentation for sterilization.
• Delivers case carts and updates instrument checklists.
• Checks in supplies; manages inventory with cycle counts and expirations.
• Stays on-call for the Operating Room on weekends/holidays.
• Maintains infection control practices at all times.
