Job summary

Chelsea Hospital, part of Trinity Health, is seeking a Central Sterile and Reprocessing Specialist to clean and reprocess contaminated instruments for OR, Cath Lab, and other areas. The role involves operating washers and autoclaves, assembling trays, and circulating case carts with attention to safety and quality standards.

Work hours are 40 per week (3-11:30pm shift) in Chelsea, Michigan. A High School diploma or GED and CST training or equivalent experience are required; certification is

Qualifications

• Requires minimum of High School Diploma or GED.
• Successful completion of an accredited Central Sterile Reprocessing program or six to twelve months of relevant experience desired.
• Certification in Sterile Reprocessing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleans contaminated instruments and trays using proper cleaning techniques that include knowledge of manufacturers' recommendations for care and handling.
• May clean and assemble vendor instrument sets/specialty instrument sets and maintain relationships with vendors.
• Reprocesses vendor/specialty instrument sets and trays using advanced techniques.
• Operates complex washers utilizing proper quality and safety standards.
• Understands need for hand washing of micro instruments and electronic devices.
• Assembles and labels instruments for sterilization. Understands the differences between instruments and completes sets with minimal errors.
• Autoclaves items based on manufacturer recommendations.
